A logo design for Arroyo Crossing Library.

The goal was to create a logo for the Arroyo Crossing Library that connects with the community.
Arroyo Crossing Library is a local library that needed a logo that connects with the community. It started with looking at the logos of other local libraries and libraries from different cities. Many libraries use limited color palettes and focus on the mark itself. The more eye-catching logos are combination marks, with a symbol combined with type.
For this logo, I wanted to connect the library to its environment, so I played with different themes, from desert animals to local iconography. I combined these themes with type and created a versatile logo that works for signage, promotional material, and much more.

I settled on a few possible ideas and narrowed them down to the design I liked best. After that, I tested several variations until I found the arrangement and colors that worked best. I ultimately landed on a lizard design, with a green and dark yellow color palette.
